Heliamphora spec. nov. "Angasima"

Product information "Heliamphora spec. nov. "Angasima""

Found growing in exposed areas on the summit of Angasima Tepui at elevations of 2200-2250m among low scrub vegetation, this undescribed species stands out with its slender, upright, vibrant yellow-green pitchers that suffuse red as they age. This creates striking contrast in the landscape, especially considering the plants form large loose colonies up to 150cm wide.

H. sp. “Angasima” appears to be related to H. heterodoxa though there are some notable differences. Apart from the color mentioned above, the pitchers appear more elongated than those of H. heterodoxa. Multiple nectar glands are also present on the exterior of the leaves. Furthermore, the lining of retentive hairs on the interior and the smooth bright red spoons appear unusually shiny.

In cultivation, this vibrant species is an easy grower suitable for beginners. Higher light will bring out its best color.
