Myrmecodia spec. "versteegii" (Sorong, Irian Jaya)

Product information "Myrmecodia spec. "versteegii" (Sorong, Irian Jaya)"

Matthew Jebb lists this beautiful species in his monograph as a type of Myrmecodia tuberosa.
After seeing Myrmecodia spec. "versteegii" in various places in Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea and the plants were often found sympatric with "typical" Myrmecodia tuberosa forms and no intermediate forms are known, I consider it a good and independent species - and one of the most beautiful of the genus!

The plants from Sorong have light-coloured leaf bases and very strongly keeled leaf veins, in which they clearly differ from the plants found at Ransiki..
