Product information "Nepenthes carunculata (G. Sago)"
There is disagreement about the status of Nepenthes carunculata as a separate species or yet as a heterotypic synonym of N. bongso.
However, the plants offered here are clearly different from the plants offered as N. bongso. The N. carunculata have more red color. The pitchers are cup-shaped with a thickened base, two parallel wings, and a fluted peristome in dark red.
The upper pitchers of N. carunculata are very bright and infindibular, thus showing a strong dimorphism to the dark bottom pitchers.
Pretty, rarely kept species.
