Product information "Nepenthes copelandii (Mindanao, Philippines)"
Contrasty coloured, robust species from the "Nepenthes alata group".
Nepenthes copelandii is found on various mountains in Mindanao at 1100-2400 m.a.s.l..
N. copelandii was already described in 1908 and named after Edwin Copeland, an American botanist.
This species can be very contrasting and dark colored. The base color of the pitcher is green, but this is covered with dark red spots to a large extent, the peristome is also dark red. The upper pitchers are clearly more funnel-shaped, but otherwise look very similar to the lowers.
Nepenthes copelandii is very robust and can easily be cultivated on the windowsill with sufficient light. It is well suited even for people with little Nepenthes experience.
