Product information "Nepenthes lavicola (Telong)"
Often underestimated species from the Geureudong massif in North Sumatra from 2000-2600 m.a.s.l. It is thought to be closely related to N. spectabilis.
"Lavicola" means "lava-dwelling" and comes from the fact that the massif is a stratovolcano and the species grows on solidified lava.
Nepenthes lavicola forms very dark, mottled pitchers and a bright yellow peristome contrasting strongly with them, usually with red stripes on the peristome. The upper pitchers correspond largely to the lowers.
With sufficient night temperature drop an interesting addition to the collection in any case.
