Product information "Nepenthes sumagaya (Mt.Sumagaya)"
Announced in 2012 and officially described in 2014, this species is one of the most recent new discoveries of the genus. The species was intially known as Nepenthes amabilis and later renamed to N. sumagaya.
Nepenthes sumagaya is endemic to elevations of 1600-2247 m.a.s.l. of Mt. Sumagaya in Mindanao.
The most striking feature is certainly the contrasting striped peristome, the distinctively marked pitcher interior and the unusual shape.
The first naming under the name N. amabilis (amabilis = amiable) was definitely fitting.
