As with most hybrids with Nepenthes edwardsiana, the cross with Nepenthes tenuis shows a beautiful peristome. The lower pitchers are strikingly dark in colour.
The aim of the backcross is to further emphasise the peristome-teeth of Nepenthes edwardsiana.
