The natural hybrid of N. rafflesiana and N. ampullaria. Both species alone are very vigorous and robust result in an attractive hybrid, which shows these characteristics clearly reinforced.
Due to the lowland distribution of both parent species, the hybrid prefers lowland conditions, but also grows diligently under other conditions.
Unlike N. ampullaria, this hybrid also easily forms upper pitchers in cultivation.
Both N. rafflesiana and N. ampullaria have a strong influence on the N. x 'hookeriana' pitchers, the base pitchers look like a N. ampullaria without a horizontal peristome. The lid base is again very reminiscent of N. rafflesiana.
